Chest infection

A chest infection affects the lungs or the larger air passages. While some chest infections are mild and resolve without treatment, others can be serious and even pose a risk to life. These infections frequently occur after a cold or flu. Although the symptoms can be quite uncomfortable, they typically improve on their own within 7 to 10 days. However, a cough and mucus production may persist for up to 3 weeks.
