About Mr Michael Saunders

Mr Michael Saunders is a highly respected consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon based in Bristol, practising privately at Spire Bristol Hospital. He specialises in the full range of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, with particular expertise in sleep apnoea, children’s ENT disorders, hearing problems and nasal obstruction. He is especially experienced in sinus surgery and the management of nasal polyps, offering advanced, evidence-based care tailored to each patient. Mr Saunders is Lead Clinician for Paediatric ENT at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where he manages complex tertiary referrals from across the South West and beyond. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 1988 and later completed an MD, awarded in recognition of his research into rhinitis and nasal polyps. His higher specialist training included posts at Great Ormond Street Hospital and a fellowship in paediatric ENT surgery in Sydney, further strengthening his expertise in complex paediatric airway and ENT conditions. Mr Saunders is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an active member of leading professional organisations, including ENT UK and the British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngologists.
