About Dr Sumantra Kumar

Dr Sumantra Kumar is a leading consultant clinical radiologist based in London, with over 2 decades of experience. He is an expert in chest radiology, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary radiology, general cross-sectional, general ultrasound, gynaecological radiology, and head and neck radiology. Dr Kumar currently practises privately at Sidcup MRI Unit in East London, a prestigious provider of high quality scans. He is also a consultant at the King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Kumar first qualified with an MBBS from Calcutta University in 1987, before going to receive his MS from the same institution in 1991. He then continued his education in the UK, achieving an FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1993. He then received his FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologists in 2000. Dr Kumar is a member of the British Medical Association, the Radiological Society of North America and the Medical Defence Union.
