About Dr Mostafa Negmeldin
Dr Mostafa Negmeldin is a consultant respiratory physician working in Bedford and Northampton, with expertise in chronic cough, asthma, respiratory infections, sleep-related breathing disorders, COPD, lung fibrosis, sarcoidosis, lung cancer and bronchoscopy. He privately practises at Manor Hospital and Three Shires Hospital, both part of Circle Health Group, as well as at Bridges Clinic for private patients at Bedford Hospital, while his NHS base is Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the Tuberculosis and Interstitial Lung Disease services at Bedford Hospital. Dr Negmeldin who has previously held consultant roles at several major NHS institutions, including Royal Brompton Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital has been practising respiratory medicine since 2006 and provides comprehensive assessment and management across the full spectrum of adult respiratory conditions. Dr Negmeldin completed his specialist training in respiratory medicine and intensive care in Egypt in 2013, having worked across a number of leading teaching and university hospitals. He was awarded a master’s degree in respiratory medicine in 2009. Since relocating to the UK in 2018, he has continued to develop specialist services, with particular interests in interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis, airway diseases such as asthma and COPD, lung nodules and cancer, bronchiectasis, pneumonia and sleep-related respiratory disorders. He is experienced in performing and interpreting bronchoscopy and other respiratory investigations. His approach is thorough and patient focused, combining evidence-based practice with clear communication to ensure patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options. He manages both common and complex respiratory conditions, including pulmonary vascular diseases and chronic inflammatory lung disorders, tailoring treatment plans to individual needs. Dr Negmeldin holds MRCP and FRCP, and is a member of the British Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society. His qualifications include HERMES certification, SCE-UK, a diploma in medical education and an MSc. He graduated with an MB BCh from Menoufia University in 2003. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching and training medical students, junior doctors and respiratory trainees. He also serves as a CESR evaluator for the Royal College of Physicians and contributes to research and audit activities. Furthermore, he is a PACES examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. He is a co-principal investigator at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and has authored multiple publications in respiratory medicine.
