Vascular dementia

Vascular dementia is a prevalent form of dementia that results from decreased blood flow to the brain. Approximately 180,000 individuals in the UK are believed to be affected by this condition. Dementia refers to difficulties with cognitive functions that arise from gradual changes and damage within the brain. It is uncommon in those under the age of 65. While vascular dementia typically progresses over time, there are instances where its progression can be slowed. The onset of vascular dementia can occur suddenly or develop gradually over a period.
