About Dr Shruthi Konda
Dr Shruthi Konda is a renowned consultant respiratory physician based in London, specialising in respiratory and sleep medicine. She practises at the Royal Brompton Hospital, one of the UK’s National Centres of Excellence for lung disease, and sees private patients at the Royal Brompton Hospital, OneWelbeck, and 77 Wimpole Street. She has particular expertise in snoring, sleep-disordered breathing, obstructive sleep apnoea, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, parasomnias, restless legs, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as all causes of respiratory failure, and their treatment with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and NIV (non-invasive ventilation). She also manages patients with cough, breathlessness, asthma and respiratory infections. Dr Konda graduated from Imperial College London and completed specialist training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine at leading London hospitals. Having also qualified in Management and Medical Education, she serves as an Educational Lead for the British Sleep Society, and as the Linacre Fellow for the Royal College of Physicians, supporting medical training nationally. She is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer for the National Heart and Lung Institute. At a European level, she represents sleep research and education on an Executive Committee within the European Sleep Research Society. She also acts as an external reviewer for two cohorts of internal medicine trainees in India. Passionate about medical education and advancing respiratory care, Dr Konda regularly organises, chairs and speaks at national and international conferences. She is however happiest when using her considerable clinical expertise and experience to provide clinical care for her patients.
