About Dr Sheeraz Janjua

Dr Sheeraz Janjua is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists and a Doctor of Optometry. He serves as Director at John Flynn Opticians, O'Brien's Opticians, Burrows & Wozencroft Opticians, and Gray & Bull. With over 28 years of experience in optometry, Dr Janjua has specialist expertise in complex spectacle prescriptions, Dry AMD, Dry Eye Disease, medical retina, glaucoma, low vision, sport vision, and paediatric eye care, including myopia management. He is committed to delivering the highest standard of care to all his patients. Dr Janjua was among the first optometrists to offer Photobiomodulation for Dry AMD, as well as Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) combined with Intense Pulsating Light (IPL) for Dry Eye Disease. His innovative approach has earned him recognition, including runner up for the UK Optometrist of the Year 2025 award at the annual Optician Awards. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Bradford in 2000. In 2009, Dr Janjua embarked on a Doctor of Optometry degree at Aston University, graduating in 2017 with research focused on dry eye disease and nutrition. During this period, he also completed a Diploma in Sport Vision from the Association of Sport Vision in 2010 and briefly worked with first-team players at Derby County FC. He holds multiple professional certificates awarded by the College of Optometrists, following rigorous examinations through Cardiff University, in areas including Glaucoma, Low Vision, Medical Retina, and Paediatric Eye Care. Dr Janjua recently completed a Master’s in Clinical Optometry at Cardiff University, conducting an in-depth literature review on photobiomodulation and diabetic eye disease.
