About Mr Ravi Ray

Mr Ravi Ray is a distinguished consultant upper limb orthopaedic surgeon based in Brentwood who specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery. Included in his areas of expertise are bursitis, rotator cuff tears, shoulder and elbow osteoarthritis, labral tears, and peripheral nerve entrapment. He is also an expert in clavicle fractures, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and sports injuries. With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Ray consults privately at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital as well as at other renowned private hospitals in the area. His NHS base is at Basildon University Hospital and he also serves as a doctor for England Boxing and the London Irish Rugby Football Club. Mr Ray qualified in 2001 and completed his training in London and the South East of England. He holds Diplomas in Trauma and Orthopaedics, as well as in Sports and Exercise Medicine, and undertook prestigious fellowships in upper limb surgery at Southampton University Hospitals and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Ray is active in his research and has published widely, along with presenting frequently at international conferences. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University and is the team leader for the trauma overhaul project and an appraiser at Basildon University Hospital. He uses the latest techniques in minimally-invasive and open surgery, having performed over 2,000 keyhole operations and 30 joint replacements in the shoulder and elbow.
