Dr Paul Harrow is a consultant gastroenterologist based in London, with expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), alongside colonoscopy, colitis and coeliac disease. He privately practises at London Digestive Centre (HCA), UCLH Private Healthcare and GI Doctors, holds private e-Consultations, while his NHS base is University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Harrow completed his medical training at Cambridge University and UCL, qualifying in 2007. He later earned a PhD from Queen Mary University of London, where his research focused on the role of environmental signals in immune regulation in the human intestine. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians. At UCLH, Dr Harrow is a leading consultant in the IBD team, providing specialist care for over 6,000 patients with conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis, and coeliac disease. He runs dedicated clinics for adolescents, adults, and pregnant women with IBD, as well as overseeing a large clinical trial portfolio. He also has a specialist interest in gastrointestinal disease in patients with inflammatory arthritis, uveitis, and checkpoint inhibitor colitis. Dr Harrow is committed to evidence-based practice and the latest advancements in treatment. He is the lead author of regional IBD prescribing guidelines and regularly contributes to conferences and teaching on best practice in IBD. In addition, he is an experienced endoscopist, performing and teaching oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) and colonoscopy at UCLH and in private practice at the London Digestive Centre (HCA).
