Dr James Greening is a consultant paediatrician based in Leicester, specialising in diabetes and endocrinology in children and adolescents. He practices privately at Spire Leicester Hospital and for the NHS at Leicester Royal Infirmary. His other specialisms are obesity, childhood growth, puberty-related problems, thyroid disorders and general paediatric endocrine problems. Dr Greening is a highly-experienced professional with a family-centred care approach and an approachable, gentle demeanour towards his young patients. His personable practice style is complemented by significant expertise developed via training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Institute of Child Health at University College London and St Bartholomew's Hospital. Dr Greening has an MBBS from the University of London and an MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Children's Health. Alongside working at Oxford Children's Hospital, he has international experience via his work at Sydney Children's Hospital. Dr Greening is also involved in clinical academic research, supervising students at the College of Life Sciences at the University of Leicester. His work, including research into children's Type 1 diabetes, has been published in various peer-reviewed papers. He is also a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED), International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and the Association of Children's Diabetes Clinicians.
