About Dr Dinesh Damodaran

Dr Dinesh Damodaran is a consultant neurologist in St Helens, Chester and Warrington, who specialises in movement disorder treatment, Parkinson's disease treatment, and dystonia, alongside headaches, seizures, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis treatment and memory disorders. He privately practises at Fairfield Independent Hospital, Nuffield Health Chester, The Grosvenor Hospital and Spire Cheshire Hospital, while his NHS base is The Walton Centre NHS Trust. Dr Damodaran is highly qualified, with an MBBS from Kannur University Government Medical College, Kannur, India, and MRCP (UK), MRCP (Neurology), FRCP (Lon) and FRCP (Edin) awards from the Royal College of Physicians. He manages patients with general neurological conditions including neuromuscular disease, peripheral nerve disorders, neurogenetic conditions, neuroimmunology, neuro-ophthalmological problems and sleep disorders. He also has a strong clinical interest in headache and migraine care, offering a full range of treatment options including cranial nerve blocks and Botox injections for chronic migraine. Dr Damodaran trained in general medicine in the North West of England, gaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians, before completing his specialist neurology training at the Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre. He holds fellowships with both the Royal College of Physicians of London and of Edinburgh, and is a member of the Association of British Neurologists and the British Medical Association. He is actively engaged in teaching and research. He is an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Liverpool, a tutor for the Royal College of Physicians, and the educational lead for internal medicine training within Health Education England (North West). He is also involved in clinical trials for Parkinson’s disease, contributing to advances in patient care and the development of new therapies.
