About Dr Claudio Ruffmann

Dr Claudio Ruffmann is a leading consultant neurologist based in Hampshire. He is renowned for his expertise in Parkinson’sdisease and movementdisorders. He also specialises in the treatment of headache, epilepsy, dizziness and tremor. Dr Ruffmann obtained his primary medical qualification at the UniversityofMilano-Bicocca in Italy before undergoing specialist training in neurology. After relocating to the UK, he conducted research at ImperialCollegeLondon on the neuropathology of dementia in Parkinson's disease. He additionally obtained a PhD in 2018 from the UniversityofOxford, where he studied potential biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease. He was also previously a clinical research fellow at Imperial College London, where he studied the neuropathology of Parkinson’s disease. Dr Ruffmann works within Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant neurologist and is also an honorary consultant neurologist at University Hospital Southampton. He currently sees privatepatients at the CandoverClinic. Dr Ruffmann has conducted a wealth of research throughout his career in affiliation with the University of Oxford, Imperial College London and Italy’s Istituti Clinici di Perfezionamento. His work is published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
