About Dr Ambreen Ayaz

Dr Ambreen Ayaz is a substantive consultant dermatologist who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, acne and eczema, alongside psoriasis, skin biopsy, cosmetic consulting, cryotherapy and micropigmentation. She privately practises at Skin Inspection Dermatology Clinic and at Hale Private Clinic, while her NHS base is Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She leads the trust's Advanced Immune Biologics Therapy service, providing modern, personalised treatments for chronic conditions including psoriasis, eczema, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Dr Ayaz has extensive experience in medical dermatology and dermatological surgery, offering procedures such as skin cancer excisions, punch and shave biopsies, curettage with cauterisation, and cryotherapy. She is also skilled in dermoscopy, trichoscopy, and diagnostic techniques including skin scrapings for mycology, skin swabs for culture and sensitivity, Woods lamp examinations, and the hair pull test. Her private practice includes full body skin checks, mole assessments, treatment for acne, rosacea and pigmentation issues, as well as the management of hair and nail disorders. She also performs the removal of benign skin lesions and provides second opinions and complex case reviews. She is a fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, holds the MRCP SCE in dermatology from the UK, and is a member of several professional bodies including the British Association of Dermatologists, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and the Pakistan Association of Dermatologists. Dr Ayaz is active in medical education and clinical governance.
