About Dr Vishal Sharma

Dr Vishal Sharma is an esteemed consultant psychiatrist, specialising in adult general psychiatry and ADHD assessments (self-pay only). He qualified in medicine in India in 2003 and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in London in 2007. He completed his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry in 2015. Dr Sharma has developed extensive expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex mental health conditions through working across a range of services in the UK, including posts in London, Edinburgh, and Wales. Dr Sharma has held consultant psychiatrist roles since 2015. In 2016, he joined Livewell Southwest as a locum consultant, before being appointed to a substantive consultant position in 2018. He currently works as a consultant psychiatrist within the Plymouth Adult ADHD Service and the Plymouth Community Perinatal Mental Health Service. Dr Sharma’s specialist interests include neurodiversity, particularly adult ADHD, as well as psychosis, mood disorders, and perinatal mental health. He is also highly committed to medical education and currently serves as director of medical education for Livewell Southwest.
