About Dr Syed Hassan
Dr Syed Hassan is a highly experienced consultant pulmonologist based in Kent, practising at KIMS Hopital, Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Benenden Hospital and Spencer Private Hospitals (Ashford and Canterbury). He holds dual specialist accreditation in respiratory medicine and internal medicine, with expertise in managing lung cancer, pleural diseases, asthma, lung fibrosis (interstitial lung disease), obstructive sleep apnoea, and pulmonary hypertension. He is also skilled in advanced interventional procedures, including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), EUS-B, medical thoracoscopy, bronchoscopy, and indwelling pleural catheter (IPC/PleurX) management. Dr Hassan trained at some of the UK and Ireland’s leading hospitals, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, Nottingham University Hospital, and Saolta University Hospitals. He has also gained specialist experience at Harefield Hospital, focusing on lung transplants, and King’s College Hospital, where he worked with cystic fibrosis patients. Beyond his clinical practice, he is dedicated to medical education and research, having served as a clinical lecturer, clerkship director, and associate professor of medicine. As an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians, he plays a key role in training future medical professionals. Recognised for his contributions, he holds Fellowships from the American College of Chest Physicians, the College of Physicians & Surgeons Glasgow, and the College of Physicians of London and is an active member of several professional societies, including the British Thoracic Society and the British Medical Association.
