About Mr Sumit Sood

Mr Sumit Sood is a renowned and highly qualified consultant general and colorectal surgeon at the University Hospitals of Coventry who offers treatment for most general surgical and colorectal conditions. He has a keen interest in all types of abdominal wall hernias, perianal procedures (Haemorrhoids or Piles, anal fistula, anal fissures & skin tags), endoscopy (colonoscopy & flexible sigmoidoscopy), minimally invasive surgery, and colorectal cancer. He graduated from the prestigious University of Kolkata in India in 1997 and completed his masters in general surgery in 2003. He has been awarded an MPhil from the University of Sheffield and has completed FRCS in General Surgery with Colorectal interest. He has gained extensive experience in both India and the UK with a practice spanning more than 25 years. His priority has always been excellent patient care, involving patients in decision-making to create tailored plans specific to their needs. He is dedicated to patient safety and leads the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) initiatives for both General and Colorectal Surgery at the University Hospital. Additionally, he trains junior doctors and serves as an examiner at the University of Warwickshire.
