About Mr Simon Monkhouse

Mr Simon Monkhouse is a highly regarded consultant upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon who specialises in gallstones, gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy,keyhole inguinal hernia management and inguinal hernia surgery, umbilical hernia, reflux disease, keyhole hiatus hernia and fundoplication surgery. To date, Mr Monkhouse has performed over 1,200 bariatric weight loss surgical procedures as a consultant surgeon and over 1,000 Allurion weight loss balloons Mr Monkhouse completed his medical education at the University of Cambridge, graduating with top honours and receiving the Senior Whitby Scholarship for academic excellence. He underwent extensive training in keyhole surgical units in Bristol, Taunton, and Newcastle, and has been a practicing consultant surgeon in Surrey since 2014. His clinical interests also include keyhole surgeries for hernias, gallbladders, and anti-reflux procedures. Mr Monkhouse is known for his patient-centric approach, providing comprehensive care before and after surgery, and where appropriate, working closely with a multidisciplinary team including dietitians and psychotherapists to ensure holistic support for his patients.
