About Dr Shui Hao Chin

Dr Shui Hao Chin is a highly regarded Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who sees private patients at the National Heart Centre on Harley Street, London, and in Leicester, as well as via e-Consultation. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and syncope. He is experienced in catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and advanced electrophysiological diagnostics. Dr Chin studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and completed cardiology training in the West Midlands. He was awarded a prestigious British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship, culminating in a PhD from the University of Leicester. He undertook advanced subspecialist training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Ottawa Heart Institute, the largest cardiac centre in Canada, and the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the UK’s highest volume centre. He was later appointed Consultant Electrophysiologist in Liverpool before returning to Leicester, where he now leads the Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation Programme. His clinical approach is centred on precision and personalised medicine, using the latest technologies such as pulsed-field ablation (PFA), high-power short-duration workflows, zero-fluoroscopy mapping systems, and multimodal cardiac imaging to deliver safer and more effective outcomes. He performs over 200 procedures per year and is one of the UK’s leading adopters of novel ablation technologies. In addition to clinical practice, Dr Chin is actively involved in national education and research. He serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Heart Rhythm Congress and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester. He regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals, contributes to academic book chapters, and reviews for leading international electrophysiology journals.
