About Dr Shahir Hamdulay

Dr Shahir Hamdulay is a renowned consultant in rheumatology and general internal medicine who is based in northwest London. He has a clinical interest in vasculitis, SLE and inflammatory connective tissue diseases. Dr Hamdulay offers holistic care through his strong networks with other specialists in orthopaedics, neurology and physiotherapy. He graduated in 1999 and completed postgraduate and specialist training in Hammersmith, University College London, St. Mary’s and Northwick Park Hospitals. During specialist training, Dr Hamdulay completed a British Heart Foundation clinical research fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital. He researched the vascular effects of drug therapy in the context of inflammatory diseases such as SLE, vasculitis and related connective tissue diseases. This led to a PhD award given by Imperial College London. Dr Hamdulay would later go on to win prizes from the British Society of Rheumatology and the Royal Society of Medicine for his research. Dr Hamdulay actively participates in clinical research and lectures at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, he has had work published in various medical journals.
