About Mr Nick Maycock
Mr Nick Maycock is a highly qualified and skilled consultant ophthalmologist with specialist expertise in cataract surgery, dry eye, refractive lens exchange, keratoconus and corneal cross-linking. Mr Maycock trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital medical school in London before going on to successfully complete specialist ophthalmic training at both the University Hospital Southampton and the Wessex Deanery. He was appointed as a substantive NHS consultant and clinical lead for cornea at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire where he worked as clinical personal tutor and undergraduate examiner at Warwick Medical School. More recently he has been working in full time private practice in Hampshire where he lives with his wife and young children. Mr Maycock was awarded a distinction in the Ulster University postgraduate diploma in cataract and refractive surgery (PGDipCRS) and has since been invited to become a tutor on the course and visiting professor in ophthalmology at Ulster University. He has been awarded the Royal College of Ophthalmologists certificate of laser refractive surgery (CertLRS). Mr Maycock has over 35 publications and recently co-authored a leading textbook on corneal topography. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is a past member of their microsurgical skills training.
