About Mr Nick Kopsachilis
Mr Nick Kopsachilis is a leading consultant ophthalmologist who currently sees patients at BMI The Chaucer Hospital, Kent Eye Centre and East Kent Hospitals NHS, University Foundation Trust. He has a wide range of experience, specialising in complex corneal and ocular surface disease as well as refractive surgery. He specialises in the implantation of multifocal and astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses as well as cornea graft surgery. Mr Kopsachilis' clinical interests include small incision cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery with toric and multifocal lenses, laser cataract surgery, complex corneal disease including corneal transplantation, infections, surgery for Fuchs' dystrophy, dry eye disease, keratoconus surgery, meibomian gland dysfunction, blepharitis, Sjogren's disease and contact lens-related eye problems. Mr Kopsachilis completed his ophthalmology training at some of Germany's most prestigious ophthalmic hospitals in Munich and Nuremberg. He continued with his subspecialty training at the highly regarded Moorfields Eye Hospital and King's College Hospital in London. Since 2016, Mr Kopsachilis has been running the cornea service at The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019 he became the clinical lead for ophthalmology. He has a keen interest in researching and has published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
