About Dr Mohammad Alam
Dr Mohammad Alam is a highly respected consultant paediatrician and neonatologist based in London, with more than 25 years of experience in paediatric medicine. He currently practises within Barts Health NHS Trust and holds the position of clinical lead, where he provides expert care across a wide range of child health concerns, and privately at Chase Lodge Hospital, Harley Fitzrovia Health and Med Plus. His areas of expertise include newborn feeding difficulties, children’s food allergies, respiratory conditions, asthma, eczema, and general medical problems in both infants and children. Dr Alam graduated from the University of Punjab, Pakistan in 1987 and went on to serve as assistant professor of paediatrics in one of Pakistan’s leading hospitals for four years before relocating to the UK in 2006. He undertook higher specialist training in paediatrics at prominent NHS institutions, including King’s College Hospital, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and Lewisham Hospital. He was appointed as a consultant paediatrician after completing his training and was awarded fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in 2015. In addition, he holds a postgraduate certificate in paediatric allergy from Imperial College London. Dr Alam combines his clinical practice with a strong commitment to education and training. He is a senior lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, School of Medicine and Dentistry, and has held key educational roles within the NHS, including college tutor and training programme director (TPD) for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. His dedication to paediatric healthcare, teaching, and leadership continues to make a significant impact in both clinical and academic settings.
