About Dr Mohamed Khafaga
Dr Mohamed Khafaga is a leading consultant in anaesthesia and pain management. His areas of expertise include lower back pain, neck pain, joint pain, headache and facial pain, fibromyalgia, musculoskeletal pain, and neuropathic pain. He is highly skilled in pain management techniques such as pain injections and radiofrequency treatments. Dr Khafaga consults privately at Nuffield Health Chester, The Grosvenor Hospital, at Spire Healthcare Abergele Clinic, and at Bridge House Clinic. With over 20 years’ experience, he also works at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as the lead for acute pain management. Dr Khafaga qualified from Alexandria University, obtaining an MBBCh in 2005, followed by an MSA in Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care in 2011. He also holds a PhD in Pain Management and Anaesthesia from the same institution, along with a Diploma in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care from the European Society of Anaesthesia. Dr Khafaga’s extensive qualifications include an advanced pain medicine fellowship at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He further undertook an overseas fellowship at Aix-Marseille University, where he was also awarded an Inter-University Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and a Specialised Diploma in Anaesthesia and ICU. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Khafaga is an active member of several prestigious professional organisations, including the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the European Society of Anaesthesia.
