About Mr Majeed Shakokani

Mr Majeed Shakokani is a leading consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at St Edmunds Hospital and Nuffield Health Cambridge. He is an expert in treating conditions of the knee and hip, specialising in hip replacement, revision hip surgery and knee replacements. He is highly qualified, having gained both membership and fellowship status with the Royal College of Surgeons, as well as a bachelor of medicine, bachelor of science degree. Mr Shakokani is an expert in all aspects of hip replacements, from standard to complex primary and revision procedures. He completed his specialist training on the Cambridge rotation followed by a Fellowship in one of the country’s highest-volume revision fellowships at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. He also complemented his training with multiple visits to various centres of excellence in the UK and Europe such as the Endo Klinik in Germany. Mr Shakokani is passionate about research and education, he has contributed to multiple national trials as a principal investigator. He has also written numerous articles and book chapters, and regularly presents his research findings at international conferences. He represents his region in the British Hip Society Revision Hip Network advisory panel and is currently a reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal.
