Mr Kazem Nassar is a consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh, who specialises in mole checks, mole removal, and sebaceous cysts, alongside skin tags, lipomas, seborrheic keratoses, and skin cancer checks. He privately practices at Waterfront Private Hospital and his NHS base is NHS Lothian. He has has over 10 years of consultant-level experience, with a focus on skin cancer management and reconstructive surgery. Mr Nassar's interests also include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. In his NHS practice, he specialises in the management of melanoma and other skin cancers, breast surgery, and complex reconstructive procedures following major cancer operations, primarily at St John’s Hospital and the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. Mr Nassar graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. He completed his early postgraduate training at the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit in Portsmouth while serving as a medical officer in the Royal Air Force, during which time he worked across the UK and overseas. He subsequently undertook specialist training in plastic surgery in Scotland, gaining broad experience across a range of reconstructive and oncological procedures. He has further developed his expertise through international experience at the Melanoma Institute of Australia in Sydney, where he gained advanced exposure to the management of complex melanoma and skin cancer cases. Mr Nassar has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals and has received multiple prizes for research and presentations at international conferences. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and is committed to delivering high standards of evidence-based care in both his NHS and private practice.
