About Dr Julian Ormerod
Dr Julian Ormerod is a highly esteemed consultant cardiologist and an honorary senior clinical lecturer. He serves as the clinical lead for the Inherited Cardiac Conditions service at Oxford University Hospitals. Dr Ormerod's research focuses on genetic heart disorders, such as channelopathies and cardiomyopathies, as well as innovative methods in implantable cardiac devices, including conduction system pacing. He treats patients experiencing various cardiac symptoms, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, and fainting, as well as individuals with a family history of heart issues. He has a special focus on inherited heart diseases and cardiac genetics, and he also performs implantations of devices like pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr Julian Ormerod earned his medical degree from Cambridge and Oxford Universities and obtained a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of Birmingham. He serves as a consultant cardiologist in Milton Keynes and Oxford. His main research focus is on inherited heart rhythm disorders, known as Channelopathies, which includes the diagnosis and management of emerging diseases within the Inherited Cardiac Conditions service at John Radcliffe Hospital/Oxford University.
