About Mr Joseph Manjaly
Mr Joseph Manjaly is a consultant otologist, hearing implant, and ENT surgeon, treating ear and hearing conditions in both adults and children. Based in London, he specialises in a wide range of ear issues and treatments, such as hearing loss, tinnitus, stapes surgery (stapedectomy/stapedotomy) for otosclerosis, cochlear implantation, bone-anchored hearing aid (BAHA), bone conduction & middle ear implants, tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty, and has a particular interest in single-sided deafness. Mr Manjaly qualified in 2008 from the University of Bristol and, after ranking as one of the top trainees in the country, undertook his training on the North Thames ENT Higher Surgical Training Programme at esteemed institutions such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Imperial College Hospital, and the Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital. In 2011, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and later gained a fellowship in 2017. He completed a further training fellowship in otology and implant surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, and upon completion, he was appointed as a consultant at Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals and University College London Hospitals. In addition to his work inside the operating theatre, Mr Manjaly is a published author of four internationally-known textbooks, including ENT OSCEs and Advanced ENT Training, and has presented his research at international conferences. He is an honorary clinical associate professor at University College London’s Ear Institute, and has been a council member for both the British Society of Otology and the otology section of the Royal Society of Medicine. Mr Manjaly is the lead of an otology strategy group at the Royal National ENT Hospital that strives for excellence within the field of ear surgery, including research, education, and service development. He is currently the Clinical Lead for Adult ENT at The Royal National ENT Hospital / University College London Hospitals. He is also a visiting core member of the Microtia & Craniofacial multidisciplinary team at the Royal Free Hospital.
