About Mr Jonathan Duncan

Mr Jonathan Duncan is a leading consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is based at the University Hospitals of South Manchester. He carries out breast reconstruction (DIEP, TRAM and TUG FLAPS), developmental breast surgery and chest wall reconstruction. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1998, he undertook surgical training in the West of Scotland before training in plastic surgery in the North West. Mr Jonathan Duncan is a core member of the Greater Manchester Oncoplastic Breast Surgery service, based in the department of plastic surgery and the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. During training, Mr Jonathan Duncan spent time in prestigious fellowships focusing on microsurgical breast reconstruction at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, in the treatment of skin cancer at the Melanoma Institute Australia in Sydney. In the early part of his training, much of his time was spent dedicated to research concentrating on scar management, wound healing and anti-scarring therapies. This work culminated in the award of a research doctorate as well as publications in scientific journals and international and national presentations.
