About Mr John Stammers
Mr John Stammers is a highly distinguished consultant orthopaedic surgeon with extensive expertise in the treatment of hip and knee conditions. His areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee arthritis, the investigation of painful joint replacements, and the revision of failed hip and knee prostheses. Following five years as a consultant at St George’s Hospital and the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre, Mr Stammers was appointed as a complex hip, knee and revision surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He performs high volume complex primary and revisions with a special interest in the investigation of painful joint replacements and manages patients with infected and failed joint replacements from around the country. Mr Stammers completed his surgical apprenticeship in world-class institutions performing high-volume hip and knee replacements. His exposure to complex arthroplasty included rotations at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore, the Royal London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals. In addition, Mr Stammers completed two prestigious arthroplasty fellowships: one at Barts Elective Orthopaedic Hospital and another at the renowned Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, becoming the first UK trainee to complete this highly sought-after operative fellowship. At the Rothman Institute, he worked alongside world leaders in orthopaedic surgery, refining cutting-edge techniques for hip and knee surgeries. Mr Stammers currently sees patients at the Cleveland Clinic London Hospital, where he provides state-of-the-art surgical solutions with a patient-focused and highly specialised approach.
