About Dr John R Lindsay
Dr John Lindsay is a consultant physician in endocrinology and general medicine. Practicing in Belfast, he specialises in diabetes, the thyroid, osteoporosis, testosterone, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, and general medicine. Dr Lindsay qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 1996, where he continued with his postgraduate training and undertook diabetes research. He furthered his skills with a clinical fellowship in the USA at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. While in the USA, he gained additional experience in bone densitometry and metabolic bone disease at the Columbia University Hospital. Upon returning to the UK, he undertook certification to administer radioactive iodine treatments for benign thyroid diseases at the University of Birmingham, and a training scheme in thyroid ultrasonography. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009. Dr Lindsay is the clinical lead for the Belfast Osteoporosis & Bone Metabolism Service, and an honorary clinical lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast.
