Mr Issaq Ahmed is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Edinburgh with practices both in the NHS and private sector. He is an expert in treating conditions of the hip and knee and specialises in robotic hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacements, revision (redo) surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery. His specialist interests are in enhanced recovery after joint replacement surgery. Mr Ahmed qualified from the University of Dundee in 2004 and completed his orthopaedic training in Edinburgh. He then completed further specialist training in one of the largest joint replacement units in England, focusing on enhanced (fast-track) recovery after hip and knee replacements. He received specialist fellowship training from one of Australia’s top knee surgeons which helped him develop his skills in robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery and the treatment of sports injuries of the knee.
