About Dr Ioannis Ntanos

Dr Ioannis Ntanos is a highly respected gender affirming surgeon based in London, practising at the Cadogan Clinic. Specialising in FTM top surgery, gender-affirming surgery, and masculinisation surgery, he is dedicated to providing expert surgical care to transgender and non-binary individuals. With a strong commitment to patient-centred treatment, he ensures that every individual receives compassionate and personalised care throughout their surgical journey. Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece, Dr Ntanos obtained his medical degree from the University of Ovidius in Constanța, before completing his general surgical training and oncoplastic specialisation in Paris. Since moving to the UK in 2013, he has been at the forefront of gender-affirming healthcare, becoming the lead for gender affirmation surgery at North Manchester General Hospital in 2019. His extensive experience includes performing over 980 top surgery procedures. In addition to his clinical expertise, he holds a Master's in Healthcare Ethics and Law from the University of Manchester, reinforcing his commitment to ethical and inclusive surgical care. Beyond surgery, Dr Ntanos is a passionate educator and advocate. He has launched Masterclasses in Top Surgery, authored a dedicated chapter on top surgery to Breast Surgery: A Companion to Specialist Surgical Practice, and regularly speaks at national and international conferences.
