About Mr Ihsan Mahmood

Mr Ihsan Mahmood is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on hip and knee surgery. He has extensive expertise in total and partial knee replacements, minimally invasive hip replacements, knee arthroscopy, and joint injections. Currently, he serves as the Service Lead for Joint Replacements at NHS Forth Valley while also consulting privately at Kings Park Hospital, Stirling and Elanic Medical, Glasgow. His practice focuses on minimally invasive total hip replacements, partial and total knee replacements, including patient-specific Conformis implants, and knee arthroscopy procedures. Mr Mahmood completed his medical degree at Khyber Medical College in 2005 and went on to achieve MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. He also has a PGDip (T&O) from the University of Salford. After completing his specialist training, he undertook advance fellowships in Glasgow, Sheffield, and at a leading orthopaedic centre in Auckland, New Zealand. There, he developed expertise in the latest techniques, including robotic and computer-guided knee replacements and minimally invasive hip surgery. Dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes, Mr Mahmood combines advanced surgical techniques with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. His commitment to excellence has earned him a strong reputation in both NHS and private practice. Mr Mahmood continues to attend international training courses and collaborates with global experts in complex joint surgery to remain at the forefront of his field. In his NHS role, he is involved in service development and leads efforts to enhance arthroplasty outcomes. He is also committed to training junior doctors and plays an active role in mentoring future orthopaedic surgeons. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
