About Mr Heman Joshi
Mr Heman Joshi is a consultant general surgeon, with a sub-specialisation in colorectal surgery, whose NHS practice is based at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals Trust. He undertook advanced surgical training in London and Oxford and further sub-specialist training as an International Fellow in Robotic Surgery in South Korea. He is a co-investigator on several clinical trials and was awarded a PhD for basic science research into pelvic floor dysfunction from the University of Oxford. He is accomplished in minimally invasive surgical techniques (e.g. key-hole, robot-assisted, single-port) which reduce post-operative pain and allow early return to normal activities. Mr Joshi is a UK Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accredited endoscopist in the national Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and performs upper and lower gastrointestinal procedures. He is the current clinical lead for endoscopy at Spire Lea Cambridge Hospital, and is certified in medical education from the University of Cambridge, supervising students and trainee surgeons undertaking clinical research projects. Mr Joshi is a member of several professional medical organisations, including The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) and The Society of American Gastrointestinal Surgeons (SAGES).
