About Mr Haitham Hamoda

Mr Haitham Hamoda is a distinguished consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery based in London. His areas of expertise include the menopause, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), infertility, fibroids, endometriosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). He is highly experienced in minimal access surgery, gynaecological ultrasound scanning, and assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Mr Hamoda consults privately at London Bridge Hospital, HCA UK at The Shard, and The Sloane Hospital. With over 30 years’ gynaecological experience, Mr Hamoda also holds an NHS consultant position at King’s College Hospital, where he is the clinical lead for the menopause service. Notably, Mr Hamoda is the first author of The British Menopause Society and Women’s Health Concern 2020 recommendations on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal women and the author of the British Menopause Society guideline on managing women with POI. Mr Hamoda is also a Trustee and a past Chair of the British Menopause Society. Mr Hamoda qualified in 1994, before going on to obtain membership and then fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He also holds an MD from the University of Aberdeen and obtained his subspecialty accreditation in reproductive medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Mr Hamoda is actively involved in medical education and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is also a member of the guidelines steering committee of the International Menopause Society and is actively involved in research projects nationally and internationally.
