About Dr Geraldine Sega-Hall
Dr Geraldine Sega-Hall is a consultant dermatologist practising at Nuffield Health Eastleigh Hospital. She has expertise in laser treatments, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, the treatment of skin cancer, Mohs surgery, scars, moles, and microneedling. Dr Sega-Hall qualified in 1995 from the Central University of Venezuela, and completed postgraduate medical training in Sheffield. She then moved to Southampton, where she trained in dermatology. She spent 10 months in Portsmouth as a clinical research fellow, and then completed specialist training in Wessex. She gained sub-speciality experience in complex dermatological and Mohs micrographic surgery in Oxford. In 2003, Dr Sega-Hall completed her postgraduate medical training in Sheffield and then moved to Southampton to train in Dermatology. She spent 10 months in Portsmouth as a research clinical fellow and then got a training number at the Wessex Deanery. During her dermatology training she rotated through three different hospitals (Portsmouth, Southampton and Christchurch) which gave her the opportunity of learning basic and advanced surgical skills, emergency dermatology, general and specialist dermatology. She has partaken in further training with residential courses in the United States. With Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Dr Sega-Hall co-supervised the Mohs Fellowship Programme, and was the clinical director of the Portsmouth Dermatology Department from 2018 to 2022. She has received additional training in cosmetic dermatology and laser with SK:N Clinics, in advanced laser treatments with the Lumenis Team, and in energy-based devices with Inmode. She has participated in a research project regarding the use of short-acting retinoids to treat hand dermatitis, as well as trials of photodynamic therapy for renal transplant patients.
