Miss Ewa Majdak-Paredes is a consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh with extensive experience in aesthetic, reconstructive and microsurgical plastic surgery. She specialises in chin enhancement, neck liposuction and facial fat transfer, alongside upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lift, and full, lower and short-scar facelift procedures. She focuses on achieving natural, proportionate results tailored to each patient. She privately practises at Waterfront Private Hospital and holds a senior NHS role as head of the plastic surgery department at St John’s Hospital in Livingston. She also works within the Edinburgh Breast Unit. Miss Majdak-Paredes has subspecialist interests in skin cancer management, including malignant melanoma, skin cancer checks, mole checks and mole removal, seborrheic keratoses and sebaceous cysts. Her practice also includes breast lift combined with implants, breast implant health checks, post-weight loss body contouring, ear correction for prominent ears, and a full range of facial rejuvenation procedures. She graduated from the Medical University of Gdansk in 2000 before completing a three-year PhD programme in surgery and human genetics at Gdansk and Leiden University Medical Centre. She was awarded a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship, leading to the award of a PhD with distinction. Her postgraduate surgical and plastic surgery training was completed entirely in the UK, with 12 years of experience across London, Birmingham, Dundee and Edinburgh, followed by specialist fellowships in oncoplastic breast reconstruction, advanced microsurgical reconstruction and aesthetic surgery in the UK and Canada. Miss Majdak-Paredes is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and has completed voluntary Cosmetic Certification by the Royal College of Surgeons. She is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, the British Association of Aesthetic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the European Association of Plastic Surgery. She has also received the Rector Award for Excellence from the Department of Human Genetics at Leiden University Medical Centre.
