About Mr Christopher James

Mr Christopher James is a highly-accomplished consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Canterbury, Ashford and Kent, who specialises in carpal tunnel syndrome, hand arthritis, Dupuytren's contracture, hand and wrist joint replacement, tennis elbow and hand lump removal. He attends to patients privately at BMI Chaucer, Benenden and Ashford Hospitals. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of London, before undertaking higher orthopaedic training on the South East London Orthopaedic Rotation, which includes such well known hospitals as King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas'. After completing his training in 2013, Mr James accepted an offer to join the Queensland Health Upper Limb and Microsurgical Orthopaedic Fellowship programme in Brisbane Australia, where he was able to learn from some of the best surgeons in his field and develop his knowledge and skills in treating complex conditions. After his time in Australia, Mr James returned to the UK and accepted a consultant position at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trus, a role he has worked in for the past seven years. Mr James is a huge advocate of continuous professional development for both himself and others, he helps lead faculty teaching courses and meetings and has published numerous journal articles and book chapters.
