About Mr Azal Jalgaonkar

Mr Azal Jalgaonkar is a renowned consultant hip and knee surgeon with a focus on adult hip and knee surgery. He has a broad orthopaedic practice and is particularly interested in minimally invasive hip replacement techniques, utilising both direct anterior MIS and posterior MIS approaches, along with hip arthroscopy (keyhole hip surgery) for patients experiencing hip impingement. Additionally, he specialises in knee replacement and arthroscopic knee procedures. Mr Jalgaonkar has been recognised with awards at orthopaedic meetings and has extensively published his research in esteemed peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals. He is committed to ongoing research and is currently engaged in several projects, including national trials such as the 'BOSS' study. He has shared his findings at numerous national and international conferences. Mr Jalgaonkar is also an enthusiastic trainer, regularly participating on the KSS ARCP panel to evaluate the annual clinical progress of higher surgical orthopaedic trainees, and serves as a faculty member for FRCS (Orth) courses.
