About Mr Awf Quaba

Mr Awf Quaba is a consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh with more than 35 years of experience in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He specialises in chin enhancement (mentoplasty), neck liposuction and facial fat transfer alongside upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty and brow lifts. He also has extensive experience in revision breast surgery and post-weight loss procedures. He privately practises at Waterfront Private Hospital, where he provides personalised surgical care with a strong focus on safety, precision and natural-looking results. His subspecialist interests include full and short-scar facelifts, ear correction for prominent ears, breast implant health checks, combined breast uplift with implants and body contouring following significant weight loss. Mr Quaba qualified in medicine from the University of Mosul College of Medicine in 1973 and completed advanced plastic surgery training at the St Andrew’s Plastic Surgery Unit in Essex. He was appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh in 1987 and spent over two decades working as an NHS consultant before moving into full-time private practice. During his NHS career, he developed wide-ranging expertise in lower limb trauma, skin cancer surgery, congenital hand surgery and breast surgery, and established Scotland’s first NHS pulsed dye laser service for the treatment of vascular birthmarks. He is a recipient of the Hallett Prize from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons. Mr Quaba has authored more than 60 scientific publications and is a regular invited speaker at national and international conferences. In 2023, he co-founded Waterfront Private Hospital in Edinburgh with his son, Mr Omar Quaba, creating a purpose-built facility dedicated to delivering high standards of patient care and surgical excellence.
