About Professor Andrew Price
Professor Andrew Price is a distinguished consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Oxford who specialises in knee surgery. His areas of expertise include partial and total knee replacement, revision knee replacement, and keyhole arthroscopy. Professor Price is part of the renowned Oxford Knee Group. With over 30 years’ experience, he also practises for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and, notably, introduced the technique of autologous cartilage implantation to the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. Professor Price treats both adult and paediatric patients. Professor Price earned his MBBChir from the University of Cambridge in 1993. He trained at St Thomas’ Hospital and then pursued postgraduate studies at Oxford University, which led to a DPhil (PhD) in Musculoskeletal Science. Professor Price undertook higher specialist training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, before completing a prestigious knee fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to his clinical practice, Professor Price serves as Professor of Musculoskeletal Science at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, where he has also developed a musculoskeletal research programme in partnership with the Botnar Research Centre. He is also the Director of Studies for Clinical Medicine at Worcester College and holds the role of Education Secretary for the British Association of Knee Surgeons.
