About Mr Amgad Nakhla

Mr Amgad Nakhla is a highly regarded consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in London, with private practices at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, Syon Clinic, The Lister Hospital, and Chiswick Outpatients. He specialises in hip and knee surgery, with particular expertise in joint replacement, minimally invasive techniques, enhanced recovery pathways, and arthroscopic knee surgery. Performing more than 750 operations each year, including over 400 hip and knee replacements, Mr Nakhla is recognised for his patient-centred approach and commitment to helping individuals return swiftly to active, pain-free living. Mr Nakhla qualified from Cairo University in 2000 and went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2006. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons the same year and achieved Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2008. Following his early training at Cairo University Hospitals, he moved to Imperial College London, where he worked as a Clinical Lecturer and developed an academic interest in orthopaedic innovation. He later undertook three senior fellowships at Charing Cross Hospital and Nottingham University Hospitals, gaining advanced expertise in complex primary and revision hip and knee surgery. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Nakhla has contributed to research in computer-assisted joint replacement and enhanced recovery after surgery, receiving recognition for his work through institutional and charitable research grants. He was also among the first consultants in the UK to perform day-case joint replacement surgery, a technique that enables patients to recover comfortably at home on the same day.
