About Dr Adrian Pendleton

Dr Adrian Pendleton is a consultant rheumatologist based in Belfast. He specialises in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylospondylitis, gout, connective tissue disorders, and osteoarthritis. Dr Pendleton qualified in 1993 from Queen’s University Belfast, and went on to undertake training in general internal medicine and rheumatology in Belfast and Nottingham. He received his Doctorate of Medicine in 2002 from Queen's University Belfast, and was first appointed as a consultant rheumatologist at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham before returning to Belfast. Dr Pendleton is a fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and the British Society for Sport and Exercise Medicine. Dr Pendleton, in addition to his clinical commitments, has many roles within clinical governance. He is the clinical lead of the Department of Rheumatology at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, and has been the Northern Ireland Regional Speciality Advisor for rheumatology with the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPT). His research has been widely published within peer-reviewed journals, covering topics about rheumatic diseases, including early inflammatory arthritis and vasculitis. Adrian Pendleton currently works at the Department of Rheumatology, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. He is the clinical lead within the department. He is interested in Inflammatory arthritis, Gout and Vasculitis and the use of Ultrasound in these three areas.
