About Mr Achyuth Menon

Mr Achyuth Menon is a highly respected consultant laparoscopic colorectal and general surgeon based in Nottingham, practising at The Park Hospital. He specialises in bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colonoscopy, haemorrhoid surgery, and laparoscopic hernia surgery. With over 4,000 colonoscopies performed and a range of advanced treatments offered for conditions such as haemorrhoids and complex polyps, Mr Menon is known for delivering precise, minimally invasive care with excellent outcomes. Mr Menon completed his initial surgical training in India before moving to the UK, where he undertook specialist training through the West Midlands Deanery. He later completed a Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship in Bristol and was appointed as a consultant in 2007. Alongside his clinical work, he has held several senior leadership roles within the NHS, including Clinical Governance Lead, Service Director for General Surgery, and Clinical Chair of the Surgical Division. Notably, he played a key role in Sherwood Forest Hospitals' transformation into an award-winning trust during the Covid-19 pandemic. He now serves as the colorectal cancer lead and deputy cancer lead for the trust. Academically, Mr Menon has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. He is an accredited endoscopy trainer and a faculty member at the East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre at Kingsmill Hospital.
