Deafblindness

Deafblindness refers to a condition where an individual experiences both sight and hearing loss, impacting their ability to communicate, access information, and navigate their environment. This condition is also known as "dual sensory loss" or "multi-sensory impairment." Typically, a person who is deafblind is not completely deaf or blind; instead, both senses are impaired to a degree that leads to considerable challenges in daily activities. Even mild impairments in hearing and vision can create difficulties, as these senses often support and compensate for one another.
