Catarrh
Catarrh refers to the accumulation of mucus in the nose and sinuses, as well as phlegm in the throat. It typically resolves on its own, but it’s advisable to consult a GP if it persists for more than a few weeks. Catarrh can occur due to infections such as a cold, flu, or sinusitis. While these symptoms generally last only a few days, they can occasionally extend beyond that. Although catarrh can be bothersome, phlegm and mucus are not harmful; they serve as the body’s mechanism for clearing infections.
