Bursitis
Bursitis occurs when the fluid-filled sacs, known as bursae, that protect the joints become painful and inflamed. Typically, this condition can be managed at home and tends to improve within a few weeks. You may be experiencing bursitis if one of your joints is painful and swollen; the affected area may also appear red, although this can be less evident on brown or black skin. While bursitis can impact any joint, it is most frequently seen in the shoulders, hips, elbows, or knees.
