St George’s Hospital is a teaching hospital located in Tooting, South London, and forms part of the St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. St George’s hospital provides high-level care in all areas, along with offering specialist care for complex cases such as trauma, neurology, kidney transplantation, cancer care and cardiac care. With over 8500 members of staff working on site, St George's is the largest healthcare provider in south-west London, serving a population of 1.3 million in south-west London and 3.5 million in the wider area of Surrey and Sussex. St George’s hospital is one of four major trauma centres that serve London, and one of eight hyper-acute stroke units for the capital. St George’s Hospital medical school, hosting the St George's University of London and the Kingston University Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, is renowned for its training of medical staff, and for the medical research carried out.
